Don't Be Haters, yo

I can't figure out if this is just a Chicago thing, or if it's just my family that's insane, but when I tell people here that I like green olives on my pizza, they look at me with the same revulsion as if I had confessed to a fondness for diced baby hands as a topping. Green olives are delicious! Black olives are okay, but pretty dull. The green ones have a little punch, a little je ne sais quoi that sets then apart.

Don't be hatin' on me.

It's because people associate green olives with soylent green. They're made with PEOPLE!!

I like 'em both, and I am drooling now, thankyouverymuch.

I sense a conspiracy-
Large Hadron Collider ("LHC") Lady knows about soylent green... what are they really trying to collide there, and why do they keep pretending the thing doesn't work yet... is it so we don't get suspicious about all the people going in and all the green olives coming out? How can I tell the olives made from cute girls from the ones made from hairy guys? Hmmm... Amazing where these little bits of truth turn up.

It may be a regional thing, not just a family thing. Remember the pizza place on Thomas Road sold pizzas with green olives. I doubt we ordered enough pizza on our own to make green olives a viable topping option.
